At Uniserv we understand that each of us has an impact on the world around us. The choices that
we make influence the quality of the environment we live in today and the future that we will all share.
Uniserv’s commitment to ensure that there is nothing being used inside our customer's buildings
that would compromise indoor, air or environmental quality has led to the development of our
Unigreen™ green commercial cleaning system.

What is Green Cleaning?
Green Cleaning is cleaning to protect health without harming the environment."

Why Green Clean?
A green cleaning program, in unison with a proactive facility maintenance program can provide
numerous benefits, such as:

  • Improved productivity of building occupants
  • Improved health of the cleaning staff and building occupants, which may reduce sick days
  • Reduced liability from worker safety issues
  • Enhanced brand equity
  • Meeting local, state, or federal purchase guidelines and earning points towards certifications such
as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)

Unigreen™ is green commercial cleaning that takes a holistic view of our customer’s facilities. Our
system unites procedures, certified products, tools, equipment, training, and support.

Procedures
Cleaning practices designed to make your building safe, healthy and clean. A process backed by
documented Standard Operating Procedures that are fully supportive of LEED-EB certification from
the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Products
Green Seal (GS-37) certified cleaning agents. Hand soaps that are Green Seal certified and do not
contain harmful antimicrobial agents. Paper products that meet the EPA’s Comprehensive
Procurement Guidelines and Green Seal’s Standards for Tissue (GS-1) and Towels (GS-9) for
recycled content . “Hands-free” paper towel dispensers that reduce cross-contamination. Controlled
use dispensers that promote waste-reduction.

Tools and Equipment
Use of CRI certified vacuums equipped with high performance filters. Microfiber cloths and flat mops
that efficiently collect dust and dirt, reduce chemical usage, and can be cleaned and reused for
minimal waste. Chemical systems take the guesswork and risk out of mixing chemicals and reduce
container waste.

Training and Support
Through on-the-job classes and printed materials our employees are trained to consider both the
product and the process. These skills are then used to “care” for our customer’s buildings, protect
the health of occupants, and achieve green cleaning standards.

Uniserv is proud to provide environmentally friendly services that protect health as well as the
buildings in which we live and work.

What is LEED?
The United States Green Building Council describes their LEED (Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design) Green Building Rating SystemTM as the nationally accepted benchmark for
the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.

Why Should LEED Matter to Me?
Green design and construction can help you save energy and enhance your bottom line in the
following ways:

  • Earn tax breaks and rebates
  • Lower construction costs
  • Reduce or eliminate the need for heating and air-conditioning equipment and the associated
costs of purchase, maintenance and electricity
  • Cut energy and water bills by as much as half
  • Increase labor productivity, retail customer sales and property value
  • Protect operating budgets from increase in energy price

The green cleaning specialists.
Green Seal ® is an independent (non-profit) organization that works
to achieve healthier, cleaner environments  by identifying and
promoting products and services that are environmentally friendly.

We supply Green Seal ® certified paper products and controlled use
dispensers to our contract service clients.
We use microfiber cleaning cloths, mops and dusters. Microfibers
are very thin filament
s blended from polyester and nylon that have
been split to form thinner fibers–think 1/100th the thickness of a
strand of your hair. These split fibers are better for cleaning because
their increased surface area enables them to capture and retain
more dirt, mold, and allergens. We can clean more effectively while
reducing water and chemical usage - plus they are reusable.

Floor and carpet care is an integral part of protecting the investments
made in your facility. Our CRI certified vacuums ensure that we are
removing optimal quantities of dirt, keeping that dirt and dust locked
within the vacuum, and protecting the lifespan of your carpeted
surfaces. Cleaning your floors with an CRI green label certified
vacuum will help you keep your facility and its occupants cleaner,
and healthier.
